About Kate
Kate DePalma is a Creative Strategist based in Jacksonville, Florida. She works with artists, nonprofit leaders, and creative entrepreneurs who are building something new and need a trusted partner to help them get it right from the start. Her background covers both sides of the creative world: the art and the infrastructure. She's a professional musician and music educator deeply immersed in Jacksonville's creative community. She's also a nonprofit leader and operational strategist who has worked with some of Jacksonville's most defining cultural institutions. That combination is rare, and it's exactly what makes her useful when a project is just getting started.
Background
Kate holds a Master of Music Education from Florida International University, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Public Policy from the University at Albany, SUNY.
In the Community
Kate is the co-founder and Executive Director of Bold City Remix. She serves on the board of the Jazz Discovery Series and as an advisor to Artistic Journeys International. She has been contracted by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville and the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida to provide professional development education for emerging creatives through grant-sponsored programs. Through local public schools, she works with exceptional education students, bringing adaptive music instruction to students who learn differently.
Looking Ahead
Kate is currently developing a gamified music education app for K-12 students, bringing her background in adaptive instruction and curriculum design into the edtech space.
